OK, so I’m not sure what happened. I was doing all the things authors do to promote. Blog tours and interviews. My book was doing fine, by my standards, anyway, and I was happy.
And then the sky exploded with hundreds of cute, chubby, flying pigs.
Dawning sold 399 downloads in one day.
It hit # 14 on the top 100 best sellers list under the Historical Romance category.
I have, as of this moment, sold a total of 700 copies.
I’m not sure why this happened, and I’m guessing it won’t last very long, but wow, oh wow.
WOW!
Thanks again (I could never be thankful enough) to all of you who have carried me through all of this.
~ Love, Olivia
And now for a picture, just because I like this picture, and I hope it makes a few of you smile.

Congratulations! That’s fantastic news. Keep up the good work. Obviously you’re doing something right.

Thanks. I doubt it will hold on as long as your good luck streak did, but I’m very happy.

My good luck streak was never at that level. Best I did in a day was a little over 100. I’m hoping my second book gets something like this, but one can never tell. You might taper off, which will still be epic. What did you do for advertising?

I think I accidentally hit the right blogs at the right time. Once Amazon bumped me up more people saw it, then more, then more. And I expect it to taper off in the next few weeks, Still, really cool.

Once you get on those lists, you go running strong for a while. I screwed up with a free weekend while I was still on the lists and I never got back on. I’m curious about how the first book is going to sell with the second one coming out.

OK, that’s good to know. I was giving it a week tops.
And yes, I wondered about that too, if the first book will dip, or will the second book bring attention to the first.

It has to bring the first one up since you have to figure more people will get into the series. Some readers might be waiting to see if I’m a real author with a series or a dabbler.

Good point. It’s harder to be taken seriously with one book.

Congrats! And as for the Doctor Who pic, it explains everything. I can’t stand whipped cream, but I love me some chocolate. Now I know why 10 is the fav for me. 😉

I like both chocolate AND whipped cream. 🙂 BTW, thank you.

SUPER congrats to you! First of all: Matt Smith is amazing and I’m already depressed about his up-and-coming regeneration. **tears**
Second, I had a question for you. I’m super new to the whole Indie Pub thing, and I was wondering where you had your book cover created? It looks awesome! “Book Cover” how-to is the next thing on my list of things to research 🙂 Thanks, and congrats again on the book sales!! So exciting!

I like Matt. At first I didn’t, but he definitely grew on me in a big way. And I had my cover done by Steph’s Cover Design. You can look her up on FB.

Many congratulations on 700 copies sold. (probably more by now, I’m late) I am sure that you will go from strength to strength Olivia, and be inspired to even greater works.
‘My’ Dr Who was the original, William Hartnell, in 1963, so I haven’t really watched it since, as I confess that I really do believe it is only for children…
